Little Nasty Bed Bugs

Do you travel a lot? We don't but when we do, I want it to be comfortable and convenient as possible. However, when unexpected things happen that we cannot avoid, would it be nice to have something handy to protect and help us.

Last month we went to Memphis, Tennessee to pick up the truck that my husband stepmom was giving him. It actually belong to my father in law and when he passed away a 5 years ago there were some issues between my husband and his step mom... and recently, we don't know the reason why she gave the truck and some other stuff to my husband. But, we cannot say that we are not happy about it because I know my husband is. It is something to remind him of his parents. Plus my daughter is so into her grandfather's truck.

So we drove for about 6 to 7 hours straight. Just stopping to grab something or fill up for gas or go to the bathroom. It wasn't too bad since my husband is the one driving. When we got the truck we just stop to eat dinner and left Memphis around 6:30PM to 7:00PM. This time we have 2 vehicles. He was driving the truck and I was following him driving the trailblazer.

This is the first time that I will be driving that far Memphis, Tn to Mckinney, Tx plus I have a 2 years old passenger. We didn't intend to stop for the night in a hotel for the trip but between 11 at night I am having a tough time focusing on the road... sleepiness and darkness combine. If it was morning it should have been a different story. But since my daughter has been complaining already and I can't keep up with my husband anymore we decided to stop and spend the night in a hotel.

This is when my nightmare started. Since it was a on the spot stop, we settled for the first hotel that we saw. Big mistake... not only that the hotel smells old, its a bit dingy. Well, since I was really tired we decided to just take it. I mean what can go wrong right?

Morning came, can't even remember if my daughter fell asleep first before me and my husband. All I remember is I lay down on the bed and it was morning. I was that tired. So we head home and that night, I saw a couple of red marks on my daughter and I took a shower I also found some red spots. I didn't really bother about it but when my daughter starts complaining that she was really itching I suspected that maybe there were some bugs from the hotel that we slept in for the night.

So we had the itchiness and red marks for a couple of days. I told my husband that the next time we go somewhere that far, we definitely should arm ourselves with the bed bug products. I had a chance to review the products of USBedbugs.com which focuses on providing consumers products that will prevent getting bed bugs while traveling.

Their products such as:

● Protect a bed allerzip bed bug proof mattress encasements
● ClimbUp insect interceptors (bed bug monitors)
● PackTite portable bed bug heater
● GreenClean dissolvable laundry bags

are some of the one that I really like.

I also had a great chance to check out these Bugzip Luggage Encasement. Comes with 4 different sizes that good for a large suitcase, medium, garment bag and one one for a drawer liner.

Right now I am using the drawer liner and I love how it protects the clothing from the wood and the smell of it. The clothes remains protected and just in case there's some nasty bug crawling around, I can be sure that with this liner the clothes are well protected. Those luggage encasement should have been very handy when we went to that hotel. But, now that we have them, it is definitely one of the things that we are using when we travel next time.

This encasement is designed for advance resistance to bed bugs. It has a 3 sided bug resistant zipper for easy access to contents. Generously size to hold shoes, purses or souvenirs. Heavy duty clear vinyl which meets the EN71 standard and California PROP 65 environmental standards.

So for those who are traveling a lot or of those who are doing any traveling of some sort and staying in a hotel, you better try it. It could save a lot of hassle. Believe me!
