Found the perfect design

For a while now I have been looking for the perfect tv stands design for our living room and tonight I finally found it. Okay, that sounds like a line from a song.

But seriously, the photo on the left side is really gorgeous. And with a flat screen TV, I don't know how I can pass on this design.

It has a 19" center drawer; 19" media storage; adjustable shelving; CD/DVD tray, 63 1/4" (W) x 22 1/4" (D) x 30" (H) and the maximum TV size that you can put is 32" - 60" (flat screen).

With the perfect blend and rich color of the wood, nobody can pass on to it. Lots of storage for something that I want to keep. This particular design also comes with other other colors so you can choose the one that will work best with the motif of your house design.

Franchise Business

Since I started blogging I noticed that I have been drinking coffee a lot. I don't know if it's because I have been sleeping late. Making me crave for some caffeine to keep me awake or just coincidence.

Speaking of coffee, I have been seeing a lot of coffee houses in my area. I wonder if its because of the sudden change of weather or just my conscious mind since coffee has been added to my daily routine now. I guess this coffee addiction has started when my husband was at home a lot. He usually is the one making the coffee and whenever he makes one, I always gets one.

Today, I saw a site about coffee franchises and I found it very interesting. I have been wanting to start a business, something big, something over my head and I think the franchise thing is something that I need to check out. And so I caught myself, filling out the form to inquire about a particular business that me and my husband always go to eat. Hopefully, I can start something and hopefully, the rest will be history.

What I Really Like...

A couple of days before Christmas, I was blogging about the laptop bag that I was wanting for as a gift. I gave my husband 3 designs so he can choose. I know he is going to get me one of those because I have been wanting one for my laptop and at the same time I can use it as a school bag. Christmas day came and the last box I open was the one for the bag and when I saw the bag I was thinking if its one of the design that I gave to him. I am almost sure that it's not one of the design that I told him. Sure enough when I check my cellphone for the photo, it is not.

Well that was a swell one. Apparently, he didn't see the designs that I showed him so he pick another design. Although I did like the design of it, I just didn't like it because its too heavy. And with the laptop and my books on it, I am not sure if I can still carry it.

The design that I was wanting for is like the Zero Halliburton briefcase. It has a sleek design and It will look presentable with it. Not looking like I am trying to carry a huge rock inside my bag. Also, the designs that I had in mind will be able to withstand the abuse and last for a while.

Good thing I can exchange it. That's what I like when you buy something, if it doesn't fit your personality or for whatever reason, returning or exchanging it is not an issue.

Asbestos and Cancer

Have you heard of mesothelioma? What about asbestos? If you are familiar with any of these 2, apparently one is connected with the other one. Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that is almost always caused by previous exposure to asbestos. In this type of disease, the malignant cells develop into a protective lining that covers most of the body's internal organs. The most common area where it hit is the outer lining of the lungs and internal chest wall. But it can also occur in the abdominal cavity, the heart and the sacs around the heart.

Most people who are acquire this type of cancer are those who worked on jobs where they inhaled asbestos particles or have been exposed. Washing the clothes of the person who are working with asbestos is also also a candidate.

The reason I decided to do a post about this one is because I have been fascinated with issues such as cancer when I started taking some science classes and I think its absolutely amazing how technology has develop in order to help fights diseases.

Last minute shopping

I hate doing some last minute shopping, but what can I do we didn't have the money to do any shopping the past couple of weeks. It's only now that we had some budget to do some holiday shopping. But it is absolutely bad shop when it is only 2 days before the holiday. It's not even 2 days, its only 1. Wow, the days are really fast this days.

So last night on our way home me and my hubz was talking about gifts. What we want to get. He ask me what I want and I told him that there's only one thing that I really want. And that is to not worry about any debts or bills being late. I worry about everything so I get stressed out so much if we are late on paying our bills or that we have so much debt. But of course we can't really avoid it, he is the only one working. And since that is not included on the gift, I told him that I am not really sure what I want.

But as usual as we keep talking I finally realized that I have been wanting to buy a watch for a while now, so I told him I wanted a watch. I don't like the girly girl type of watch but something sporty. And as we keep talking, I remember that I also need a bag for my laptop. He ask me what design of bag I was wanting to get, and of course I don't know. I have to actually look for designs in order to tell him that part.

This afternoon we went to the store and I found some gorgeous designs of the bag, so to make it easy on my hubz I took some photos of the bags that I like. I saw 3 designs that I like and any of those are great for me.

But my dilemma right now is that I still don't have a gift for him. He actually wants a complete collection of the series NCIS and a pair of new sunglasses but I still can't find the DVD and the sunglasses design that he wants. So hopefully tomorrow I'll find one.

This one is on my list

If you haven't done your shopping for holiday by now, you are certainly going to have some tough time getting through all of the traffic of the holiday rush. However, there are ways to avoid the rush and traffic. You can either do your shopping online or you can go to places that doesn't have a whole lot of people. Which probably not going to happen. It's only 3 days to go and its the d' day.

My husband and I has been talking about going to the mall today but I don't know if we can have the patience to do all the last minute shopping. But I saw some holiday gift guide online and I thought it would be nice to just list down all the things that we want to get so it will be faster and easier. It's also a good idea since we don't have a whole lot of time so we are cutting the time of going from store to store trying to find that things that we want.

So, that's our plan. And since we are listing all the options for each other, I thought I'd give him this photo of the watch that I really love. I really love how the frame is huge. Re-bloom your holiday amaryllis

If you received an amaryllis as a holiday gift, here's how to encourage it to re-bloom next year so you can continue to enjoy it:

• Keep the plant in a bright spot and water it when the soil feels dry.
• After all danger of frost has passed, plant it outdoors in a partially shaded location.
• Before the first frost in autumn, pot up the plant and move it back indoors.

How to get fit during winter

One of the things that I really don't like about our house is that we have this pink carpet and to tell you the truth it is a bit difficult to match the designs of our house because of the carpet. Local Market

If you have some stuff that you want to sell, where do you usually sell it?

Do you go on Ebay? We don't. Ebay has been highly commercial that most of the time, it is harder to sell items. If we have something to sell and we want local buyers, we use Craigslist.com. This site has proven so many times that selling your goods locally is still the best one.

We have used this site so many times and everytime we have something to sell, it's always fast. Like this week, we listed a washer and dyer and on the same day we had atleast 4 people who are interested in buying it. Must have been some ads that my husband has put. The next day we had 4 more people who was wanting to buy it... today, my husband delivered it.

Do you wear a watch?

Recently, I noticed that I haven't been wearing any watch and there are times that telling the time gets a little difficult.

Getting used to not having one took a while. I have been so used to wearing one and all of a sudden I stop using one. It feels like I am not wearing anything. Seriously! That's how important my watch to me before, and even now it still feels a little weird when I need to check the time and I don't have a watch.

But I am seriously planning of buying one again. I have been seeing some gorgeous watches that famous celebrities are wearing plus I really love Seiko Watches. How to get started with potty training?

Recently, potty training our 2 years old is our latest quest. And so far we have some "good jobs" but since we are just starting, she still likes to use the diaper basically. And since we are on that phase I wanted to share some tips that I found that may make potty training not too stressful.

• Potty Training Starts with Talk About the Potty Itself. Have a talk with your toddler. Sit down and discuss with him some key toilet issues. Tell him that everyone goes potty (even animals) and it's a normal part of life. Talk with him about the toilet, a special place where he can potty. Tell him how the potty works and let him try flushing himself. Explain that he's going to be wearing underwear instead of diapers, just like you. Take this time to read some books or watch videos about going to the potty, and be sure to involve other family members, especially older siblings who are already using the potty.
  

• Involve Your Child in the Purchasing Process. Take a trip to the store. Involve your toddler in purchasing underwear, a step stool and potty chair (if you decide to use one). These items will have much more significance if he is involved in the decision-making process. Be sure to purchase plenty of undies so you're not overwhelmed with laundry in the beginning stages of training. It's easy to revert to diapers when you're out of training pants and you don't want to do that.
  

• Make Dressing and Undressing Easy. Put away any difficult clothing until potty training is complete. Overalls, pants with lots of buttons, snaps or zips, tight or restrictive clothing and oversized shirts will all be an obstacle to your child during potty training. Put them away now so you can resist the temptation to use them when there's nothing else clean or you're in a hurry some morning.
  

• Think Now About How You'll Handle Praise, Rewards and Accidents. Make some decisions about how you're going to try to approach these things with your child. These don't have to be written in stone, and indeed they shouldn't be. As potty training progresses, you may have to change methods many times according to the his needs (and yours). It is helpful, however, to have some things outlined in your mind. Decide whether or not you're going to use Pull-ups, training pants or regular underwear and try to stick with this decision so your child has consistency and isn't confused. Think about whether or not you want to use rewards or not. Figure out a strategy on how to handle potty issues when you're away from home. Practice a calm, matter-of-fact response to accidents in your mind.

Better Products For Better Living

A lot of sports fans are doing tail gating and it actually looks a lot of fun. My husband is into sports but we never had the time to watch one. Sad, isn't it? But I know a few people who loves to tail gate. One of my professor is an avid fan of football and he loves to tell stories about the game. And I bet he probably did some tail gating.

I found a site called ajprindle.com and they offer a lot of accessories and products for people that does a lot of tail gating and are into NCAA & NFL. Specially with the weather now, extra care and right equipment is essential. They also have the best selection of products whether you are going to use it at home or on the road.

Aside from tail gating accessories they also offer wireless mailbox monitor. This monitor will basically transmit a signal to let you know that your mail has arrived. All you have to do is attached the sensor to your mailbox and put the receiver in a place where you can see it easily. It will make some chime sounds to let you know that your mail has arrived. A very convenient way to keep track of your mails.

I also found some great garage accessories that will work good for our garage. Since it is so small, we need some extra space to accommodate other things. And ajprindle.com has a lot of shelving that we were looking for.

My project for next year

I have been trying to come up with a project that I can work on for next year. I have been talking about the online community (Youth Community Service Club) that I just created from my previous post and so far the membership is increasing everyday.

My first thought was to adapt the special kids that one of our member are helping but I don't know what to do for them. And then the other day some of the members were talking about projects so it kinda got stuck on my head now.

I was thinking of maybe collecting some school supplies since the Organization is going to start the 6-7 weeks community immersion this coming April-May, 2009 and one of their project is teaching children. So those school supplies will definitely help the young volunteers. But, right now I don't know where to start.

Well, in a way I already started today. What I did is for every Birthday Note Card that I will design/order over at Designs By Vhiel, $1.00 will go to the community for the upcoming project.

I think it will be a great start for me. To give me some time to come up with a plan and project and at the same time, time is not being wasted. Later on I think I will also add some advertisements to generate some funds. If you are a blogger and wants traffic on your site, check us out later on.
