Asbestos and Cancer

Have you heard of mesothelioma? What about asbestos? If you are familiar with any of these 2, apparently one is connected with the other one. Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that is almost always caused by previous exposure to asbestos. In this type of disease, the malignant cells develop into a protective lining that covers most of the body's internal organs. The most common area where it hit is the outer lining of the lungs and internal chest wall. But it can also occur in the abdominal cavity, the heart and the sacs around the heart.

Most people who are acquire this type of cancer are those who worked on jobs where they inhaled asbestos particles or have been exposed. Washing the clothes of the person who are working with asbestos is also also a candidate.

The reason I decided to do a post about this one is because I have been fascinated with issues such as cancer when I started taking some science classes and I think its absolutely amazing how technology has develop in order to help fights diseases.

If you have worked with asbestos or is working with it right now, I suggest that you get as much information about it and consult your physician to make sure everything is okay.
