If you have been reading some news lately, you probably read that there are a lot of companies that are closing down or down sizing. I blog about the Circuit City over here in our area that just open up and now they are closing down and they've mark down all the inventories that they have. I've read from one website that there are at least 18 companies that are closing most of their stores, if not all.It even mentions that "If the credit crisis gets substantially worse, some businesses will not be able to maintain inventory. Other firms will be affected because their target consumers no longer have any discretionary income at all." I can't imagine how these things happens when US is considered to be one of the rich countries. Everybody wants to go and work here.
The government has allotted some money so the economy can get back on track. But I've heard on one radio talk show that the companies that was given this money are not actually using it in good cause. Instead of lending it to the people, they are using the money that was lend to them to pay their bills. I don't think it's fair. The government bails these companies out but with ordinary families like us, if we screwed out, no one will bail us.
Now I don't want to sound like somebody who knows a lot of things about this issue, but my family is feeling all this things that is happening in the economy. Good thing the price of gas is going down.. but for how long.. i don't know. I just hope that the new elected officials will be able to figure things out and actually make things a little bit better.
