You are in a hurry and finally remember to make that quick phone call to schedule an appointment. Unfortunately you are greeted by a maze of phone prompts asking you to press 1 and then 2 and so on and so forth. If you want to skip the robots, there are a few tricks you can try. Push zero repeatedly seven or eight times, or say "operator" if it is a voice recognizing program.

You can also refrain from pressing any buttons from the start of the call. This should automatically route you so that you can have a live conversation. Most companies have a "back door" which allows callers to reach employees. Ask the operator (once you reach her) how to reach a live person in future calls.
