Get rid of those frowns and pass the time having fun! Whether you're on a road trip or sitting in a waiting room, there are plenty of fun ways to occupy your child. These ideas let your child's imagination spar and put an end to frustration.- Back Tracing - with your index finger, trace a letter or number on your child's back and let them guess it.
- I Spy- all young children love this game and it can be adapted for any age. Spy objects and colors; older kids can incorporate more advance learning concepts: For a book: I spy something that rhymes with cook.
- 20 Questions - choose an animal (or a person, or a place). Participants gets to ask 20 questions, then each takes a turn guessing what it is.
- Take a picture - Look around the room as you can count thirty. Try to remember everything you see. Then close your eyes and let the other person quiz you. (What color is the couch? How many people are in the room).
- Going on a picnic - The first person says they are going on a picnic, and they announce one item they will take. It can be serious or silly. The second person says they are going on a picnic, and has to say the first item, then add their own. The next person has to say the first 2 items and then add their own. This is a great memory game and can be adjusted for older kids by choosing items in alphabetical order.
- Simon says - this game can be done on a small scale depending on your environment. From patting your head to touching your toes. Simon says "have fun!"
