Pack a Lunch with Punch!

School has started and being a parent, you are constantly on a hunt for cool trick and tips on how add some punch on your child's life. So here's a few tips and tricks that you can use to punch up your little one's lunch.
  • Invest in cool lunch equipment. Let you kids choose the lunch box to suit their style. Snack size plastic baggies also area great tool to have on hand to help teach kids about portion control and offer and easy way to stash kid -friendly snacks in knapsacks.
  • Finger Foods. Sometimes kids, especially younger ones dont like to eat a whole sandwich or bowl of food. Instead you can try preparing a cut up cubes of cheese, grapes, carrot sticks, pretzels, mini crackers and ham cubes. Place in a container with individual compartments or just a standard one for a fun lunch. You can also try cutting sandwiches into small rectangles or triangles for easier eating.
  • Cold Pack. Keep refrigerated items such as low-fat yogurt, cheese and lean deli meats fresh by including frozen ice pack or freezing 100 percent juice boxes that you can plan to include. Remember that the containers are likely to sweat while thawing, so wrap them well in plastic wrap to prevent your child's lunch from becoming soggy.
  • Class Favorites. Pack your child's favorite foods in their lunch every now and then. Just keep an eye on the portion size. All foods can fit into a healthy diet if eaten in moderation and in the right portion.
  • Make it fun. On the days traditional sandwich tops the menu-try cutting the bread with fun shapes using cool cookie cutters.
  • Dip or dunk. Kids love to dip their food because it gives pizzazz to regular items like carrots and apples.
